2012 Mexico Mission Trip
August 5 - 11, 2012
FBC “Kingdom Builders”
Our name, “Kingdom Builders,” comes from 1 Corinthians 3:9, "For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, you are God's building."
In 2010 a team of 14 FBC folks traveled to Huacapa, Oaxaca, Mexico to help start a church build with this community and now we are going back to finish the job.
This year’s mission team consists of 10 members traveling to Mexico and 6 members who supported here at FBC Belvidere. We will travel back to Huacapa, Oaxaca, Mexico with ABC-USA missionary to Mexico, Chuck Shawver.
Our focus is on two ministries with the local church there: (1) to help purchase some building materials and work to finish the project of a new church building twice the size of their current facility by completing the roof and (2) to build relationships by working with children and youth to teach them more about salvation in Christ through games, crafts, and songs.
"Kingdom Builders" is not a movement, but an attitude of service exemplified by Christ (Philippians 2:1-11). We hope and pray that, as Christ leads us, we lead by example (1 Corinthians 11:1) and that others join in serving wherever God has planted them (at work, in school, in the community, in organizations and groups, in their families, etc.). We pray that God continues to bless this ministry and that each person who participates may be a blessing and may be blessed as God works in us, through us, and, often, in spite of us.
