Lindsey and Luke Copeland
CHUC Students: Luke & Lindsey Copeland. "CHUC" is Judson University's "CHurch-University Cooperative" program where Judson students work to fill needs in local churches while getting financial assitance form the church and the school. Our church has been blessed to have been a part of this program from its inception four years ago and have sustained 2 students a year.
While Lindsey's face should look familiar to our church family, her name may seem different. Just this past August she decided to change her last name from "Carpenter" to "Copeland" (it had something to do with marrying Luke...aren't they soooo cute!). This is Lindsey's 3rd year in the CHUC program with our church. She works with the youth and leads the midweek Middle School Group (now on Thursdays). She has a beautiful singing voice and plays guitar as well! Lindsey is graduating in 2012 with a Communications degree and hopes to continue her work with youth, but in the inner city and/or with at-risk students and families. She looks forward to also being a mommy some day!
Luke should also look familiar because he has been a regular attender at our church this last year and has also been volunteering as an adult leader in our youth ministry (his name stayed the same, though
). We felt God was calling our church to pour into and invest in Luke and his gifts and talents as well for this year, so he will primarily be working with music and worship as member of our worship team and leading the youth worship on Sunday evenings. Luke will be graduating alongside his bride in 2012 with a degree in music ministry and hopes to tour the world and/or serve as a worship leader in a local church - however God calls him! He looks forward to also being a daddy some day!
