"A Joyful Noise" (kid's singing experience)

We meet Mondays from 4:15 - 5:15 in Pastor Vince's office to learn new songs and practice how to sing correctly and for the Lord!

If you have a child ages 5 up to 5th grade, come on out!  Parents are more than welcome to sit in the back of the rehearsals (we lovingly ask that we limit distractions  - thanks).

Below are the lyrics for the songs we're working on.  You can print them off for practice at home!

“The Happy Song” (lyrics)
Words and Music by Martin Smith © 1994 Curious? Music UK (CCLI #1090549)

(CHORUS)

Oh, I could sing unending songs,
Of how You saved my soul
Well, I could dance a thousand miles,
Because of Your great love

(VERSE)

My heart is bursting, Lord, to tell of all You’ve done
Of how You changed my life and wiped away the past
I wanna shout it out, from every rooftop sing
For now I know that GOD is for me, not against me

(BRIDGE)

Everybody’s singing now, ‘cause we’re so happy
Everybody’s dancing now, ‘cause we’re so happy
If only we could see Your face and see it smiling over us
With unseen angels celebrate, for joy is in this place!

(ENDING CHORUS – slight change from CHORUS)

Well, I could dance a thousand miles,
For You, my Lord
Well, I could dance a thousand miles,
For You, my Lord

Lord, I Lift Your Name on High
w/m Rick Founds ©1989 Maranatha Praise, Inc. – CCLI# 1090549

(Verse)
Lord, I lift your name on high
Lord, I love to see Your praises
I’m so glad You’re in my life
I’m so glad You came to save us

(Chorus)
You came from heaven to earth to show the way
From the earth to the cross; my debt to pay
From the cross to the grave; from the grave to the sky
Lord, I lift your name on high

Notes: we normally sing this in the “form” of Verse – Chorus – Verse – Chorus – Chorus – Ending (last line of song two additional times)

He’s My Rock, My Sword, My Shield (unknown) – CCLI# 1090549

He’s my Rock, my Sword, my Shield                   (‘He’s my…hugh, hugh, hugh’)
He’s the Wheel in the middle of the wheel          (‘Flubba-hubba’ [x3])
He’s the Lily of the Valley                                      (“Whirrrrr” [going up])
He’s the bright and morning Star                               (“Brrrrrrr” [going down])

Makes no diff’rence what you say                       (“Ch – ch – ch”)
I’ll get on my knees and pray                              (slap knees; slap hands)
I will pray until the day that Jesus comes!          (Clap rhythm of last line)

Notes: This song is similar to “B.I.N.G.O” where each verse leaves out word or words each time, EXCEPT they’re replaced by sounds. Here’s my best attempt to give you what we do (it might be better to ask the kids to see if they remember).

1.     We song through all with motions (of course)
2.    We do not sing the first two words of song, then we eliminate a row of words for each upcoming verse (sounds are to the right in parentheses – 2nd time through – no end of 1st line; 3rd time through – no nd line either, etc.) – still with motions.
3.    We close by sing entirely through with all words again.

Cast Your Burdens (unknown) CCLI# 1090549

(Verse)
Cast your burdens upon Jesus ‘ cause He cares for you
Cast your burdens upon Jesus ‘ cause He cares for you

(Chorus)
Higher, higher – higher, higher, higher, higher, higher, higher -
        Lift Jesus higher
Lower, lower - lower, lower, lower, lower, lower, lower –
        Stomp Satan lower

Fire, fire - fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire -
        Holy Ghost is fire
Super, super – super, super, super, super, super, super –
        Supernatural power

Notes: (1) There are motions (I know – shocker!) and “form” of how we sing it is Verse – Chorus – Verse- Chorus - Verse

Jingle Bells (w/m James Pierpont © 1857 – CCLI #1090549)

(Chorus)
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh, hey,
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

(Verse)
Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way,
Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight, oh

(Chorus)
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh, hey,
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
